Muriel Siebert & Co.

Muriel Siebert & Co., Inc., one of the nation’s first discount brokerages, was established by Muriel “Mickie” Siebert, its CEO and Chairwoman, who was the first woman to receive a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. She was also the first woman to hold the position of New York State Banking Superintendent (’77-’82) One of our very first clients, Muriel Siebert, was presented by Stern & Co. to the financial world and beyond as her firm and foundation evolved. Most recently, she developed the Siebert Personal Finance Program, a curriculum that teaches essential financial management skills to young people. This issue is central in the establishment of The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, aimed at re-establishing regulation on Wall Street.
